Reps Member, Jide Jimoh Empowers Constituents, Promises More Dividends Of Democracy

As part of his efforts to alleviate poverty as the government eases lockdown over COVID-19 Pandemic, a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency, Hon. Jide Jimoh today empowered youths, artisans and elderly in the area with foodstuff, cash and working tools.

Jimoh gave out the items at his 6th edition of ‘Economic Assistance Scheme’ held at the secretariat of Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

The Federal lawmaker, who is also the Chairman of the House Committee on Regional Planning and Urban Development, also promised more dividends of democracy for his constituents.

Jimoh, while reeling out his achievements said, “I have an amazing relationship with you all and I thank the merciful God for His mercies upon everyone.”

Items distributed included palliatives/cash donations to elderly (100), cash assistance to youths, deep freezers, grinding machines, sewing machines, hair dryers and steamers, auto machine tool box, auto spraying machine and facial massagers to mention a few.

In his goodwill message, Otunba Tayo Oyemade, an APC chieftain in Lagos Mainland appreciated Jimoh for reaching out to the people of his constituency.

Oyemade, who was the Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, expressed joy over some projects facilitated by Hon. Jde Jimoh.

The Executive Chairman of Lagos Mainland Local Government, Hon. (Mrs.) Omolola Essien said that Hon. Jimoh always identifies with his people despite the fact that he is in Abuja.

“This is not your limit, you have a long way to go. You cannot satisfy people and you can’t be exempted when they are even abusing our leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu despite the people he has assisted and lifted.

The Chairman of Yaba LCDA, Hon. Kayode Omiyale, who thanked the lawmaker for the gesture, said that despite the ravaging Coronavirus in the country, God still laid it in the heart of Hon. Jimoh to assist business men and women.

He went on: “There is no perfect human being and to the beneficiaries, you have to tell those who have been backbiting Jimoh. We should tell them that our leader has been working”.

He therefore appealed to the beneficiaries not to sell the tools given to them, but to make use of them judiciously.

Another APC chieftain in the area, Wale Oshun, in his goodwill message, said that the responsibility of the government is to alleviate poverty and that if this will happen, there must be provision of jobs.

“This is what Jimoh did to contribute his own quota. What he is doing now is not part of his duties. They are in Abuja to make laws, but with the situation of things in the country now, our representatives have to assist the people,” he said.
