Operators in the built sector have commended President Bola Tinubu for separating the Ministry of Housing from the Ministry of Works.
The Chief Executive Officer of the African International Housing Show, Festus Adebayo, lauded the President for separating the two ministries.
He said, “This is a significant development that allows for a laser focus without distractions from any ministry. In addition, I have heard so much about the newly appointed Minister for Housing, Ahmed Dangiwa, and he is the best for that position because he is not new to the housing sector.
“Dangiwa was the former Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank. He is familiar with the problems plaguing the sector.”
In the same vein, the Executive Secretary of the Association of Housing Corporation of Nigeria, Toye Eniola, said the separation was a fantastic idea.
He said, “This separation will enable and enhance the concentration of the development of housing, thereby, using the housing sector as an agent of economic recovery.”
The Treasurer of the Nigerian Institute of Building, Philips Ayotunde, said it was a welcome development.
