A building at 34 Oloto Street by Borno Way, off Freeman Street, Oyingbo, Lagos partially collapsed on Thursday, November 16.
Emergency responders reported that an internal suspended beam in a room had collapsed at about 7:45 am due to the structure’s ageing and lack of maintenance.
Unfortunately, an elderly woman passed away as a result of the partial collapse but so far no other injuries have been recorded.
As of the time of filing this report, a search and rescue operation is ongoing. The building has been sealed off.
