Let us make our Democracy Great, Lawmaker Charges Nigerians

A member representing Eti-Osa constituency 02 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu has charged Nigerians to make our democracy something that we can be proud of.

He disclosed this in a statement made available by his information office on the celebration of June 12, Democracy Day.

It would be recalled that Democracy Day was celebrated annually every May 29th, until last year when President Muhammadu Buhari changed the date to June 12th.

Yishawu, who is the Chairman House Committee on Economic Planning and Budget said, “Democracy thrives on a two-way street, moving from government to the people and from the people back to the government. Let’s join hands and make our democracy something we can all be proud of”.

The lawmaker therefore urged Lagosians to support the State government through prayers and strong support for policies, as well as adherence to rules laid out by the government at these trying times.

“This time is a testing period for all nations of the world, most especially for our Nation”, he said.

Gbolahan Yishawu, particularly singled out Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a dogged and adherent Preacher, Teacher and Practicer of Democracy who prevailed on the listening Government of President Buhari to make June 12th the true Democracy Day of NIgeria.

He congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on this occasion, as well as all his constituents, wishing everyone a happy year 2020 Democracy Day.
