Lagos Lawmakers, Yishawu Pays Tribute to Late Oba Fafunwa-Onikoyi of Ikoyi

Engr. Gbolahan Yishawu, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has expressed his condolences following the passing of the Onikoyi of Ikoyi and Imoba land, Oba Patrick Ibikunle Fafunwa-Onikoyi, at the age of 92.

Representing Eti-Osa, Yishawu lauded the Oba’s leadership and vision, emphasizing his impact in Ikoyi and Imoba kingdom, as well as Eti-Osa constituency.

Yishawu noted that during Oba Fafunwa-Onikoyi’s reign, the Ikoyi and Imoba kingdoms witnessed significant growth and development in all aspects of life.

“Between the time Oba Patrick Ibikunle Fafunwa-Onikoyi ascended the throne and his passing, Ikoyi and Imoba kingdom witnessed tremendous growth and development in all aspects of life”, Yishawu said.

Oba Fafunwa-Onikoyi was born in 1931 and received his early education in Lagos before making an impact across different spheres of life. In 1996, he ascended the throne as the Onikoyi of Ikoyi. Yishawu paid tribute to Oba Fafunwa-Onikoyi’s resourceful life with great impact in Eti-Osa Constituency 02 and Lagos State.

Yishawu concluded his tribute by praying for the strength and comfort of the Oba’s family and the people of Ikoyi, Imoba kingdom, and Lagos State during this difficult time.
