BREAKING: Acting C-G of Immigration, Wuraola To Get Extended Service

President Bola Tinubu is expected to extend the service year of the Acting Comptroller-General of Immigration, Mrs. Adepoju Carol Wuraola, in order to give her the opportunity of spending beyond a day in office.

Wuraola was promoted as Acting CG by the Board of Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services in a letter dated May 26, 2023 after the retirement of the former CG Jere whose retirement from the service was extended more than two times by former President Muhammadu Buhari after reaching 60 years retirement age.

The Acting CG statutorily should retire from the service on Wednesday May 31 having reached 60 years of age herself.

She formally assumed the new office only on Tuesday, May 30.

It was gathered that President Tinubu is favourably disposed to extending her service being the first woman from the South West to become head of the Immigration Service.

Those who want her service to be extended argued that she had been denied the position for over four years due to the extension of service for the former CG by former President Buhari and it will be unfair to her to only spend just one day in office as CG in Acting capacity.

According to the information available to UPSHOTREPORTS, President Tinubu may direct the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Esan, to extend the service for the Wuraola.
However, the length of time she may get is yet unclear.
