A Grade I Area Court in Kubwa, refered a case of alleged criminal breach of trust and cheating filed against a businesswoman, Omojisola Asiwaju to the police for investigation.
The judge Ibrahim Rufai, gave the order pursuant to the provisions of Section 89 subsection 5 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA).
Rufai however adjourned the matter pending the report of the police investigations.
The direct criminal complaint instituted by the complainant, Adewunmi Blessing was refered to the Kubwa Police Station.
Earlier, the complainant, a businesswoman said the defendant introduced her to an online business contribution of N800,000 on April 13.
She further said the defendant told her the said sum would be paid back to the complainant with interest within two weeks.
” I reached the defendant after two weeks of payment of the contribution but she was not forth coming, each time I tried, she told me stories and all efforts to recover my money has proven abortive,” Blessing said.
The complainant added that she had lost huge business interest due to the defendant’s act of deceit.
She however urged the court to issue a criminal summon against the defendant for the said offences.
The defendant , however denied the allegations against her.
