A 24-year-old man, Aribi Fatai, was on Monday arraigned before an Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly assaulting one Adeniran Bunmi.
Fatai who is facing a two-count charge pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The Prosecutor, ASP Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that the defendant committed the offence sometime in June 26, 2019 at about 10 p.m, at Okini area, Osogbo.
Abiodun alleged that the defendant conspired with others now at large to assault and inflict injuries on the Complainant, Bunmi.
He said the offence contravened Sections 516 and 355 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The Defence Counsel, Mr Adesoye Oluwole, prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
The Magistrate, Mrs Aishat Oloyade, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 and a surety in like sum.
Oloyade said the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdictions, with evidence of tax payments and three passport photographs, attached with an affidavit of means.
The case was adjourned to May 21 for hearing.
