Kaduna lawmaker mourns late SSG, Charles Bonat

A member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Mr Yusuf Mugu (PDP-Kaura), has commiserated with his constituents over the death of former Secretary to Kaduna State Government (SSG) Mr Charles Bonat, who died on Sunday.

The lawmaker in a statement issued in Kaduna on Tuesday, said he received with shock, the news of the demise of late Bonat whom he described as an illustrious son of the constituency, who contributed immensely to the state and the nation at large.

He said late Bonat would be greatly missed for his seasoned administrative qualities, adding that those that were close to him would attest that he was a gentleman who would not spare you the right advice.

“The late SSG was a role model to especially many ambitious young people in Southern Kaduna and will be remembered for selfless services to humanity,” he added.

Late Bonat had reached the pinnacle of the civil service at the state level as Permanent Secretary, before capping it up with a political appointment as SSG.

The deceased, later crossed over to the Federal Civil Service and rose to the rank of Permanent Secretary, before retiring in 2015.

Late Bonat, lent his experience to the current government as a member of the Transition Committee in 2015 and 2019. He, also, served on the boards of some government agencies.
