German women’s national team captain Alexandra Popp has contracted the coronavirus and has been isolated at the squad’s training camp for next month’s European championships.
The German Football Federation (DFB) said on Wednesday that Popp’s test returned positive after she had developed COVID-19 symptoms.
All ensuing tests of the other squad and staff members were negative, the DFB added.
The Germans are training in Herzogenaurach for the July 6 to July 31 Euros in England.
A final tune-up game is scheduled for June 24 against Switzerland.
